Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) Passes by The Whale and Hockey Stick Galaxies

The above image taken and processed by Terry Hancock and me, Tom Masterson captures a steadily brightening Comet C/2021 A1 Leonard as it passes by the Whale Galaxy (NGC4631) and the Hockey Stick Galaxy (NGC 4556 and 4657). This image was captured in the early morning hours this past Thursday 11/25/2021 from Grand Mesa Observatory.

You might remember this particular celestial backdrop from another image Terry and I captured of Comet C/2020 R4 (ATLAS) earlier this year back in early May of 2021. It's pretty neat that we have another comet traveling through this portion of our sky, can't say I've ever experienced such a repeat :)
